Flint Hills Internat'l Children's Festival

spent a few days volunteering at this festival sponsored by the Ordway Center. art, music, dance, good stuff. got to sneak into the performances!

One of the art displays at the festival. Posted by Hello

this woman was one of the MASS ensemble people....she's playing an earth harp, one of the world's largest (the bridge of the harp is the metal/wood thing behind her). The strings, 500 ft long, stretched all the way across Landmark Plaza in St. Paul up to the bell tower of the Landmark Center. It was really cool---unique sound, esp. combined with the rest of the band. Posted by Hello

the performers, letting the audience try to play. Posted by Hello

me after my photographer asked me to look like i was enjoying myself. hence, the stupid expression. that's the earth harp i'm trying to play. Posted by Hello

Pre-parade madness. I helped out with the ArtMoves! parade for the festival.....kids/organizations from all over the cities decorated scores of bikes, wagons, etc. for the parade.  Posted by Hello
