Chicago Trip

Met up with my sister, who's looking into schools. We crammed a lot into a weekend. Below are just highlights.

The Palmer House Hilton in Chicago, where we stayed for a night. a lot of venetian-inspired decor around this town... Posted by Hello

Constant crowd of people blocking the Seurat.... Posted by Hello

Of course I'd include this Renoir....there's a piano in it. :P  Posted by Hello

My sis standing in front of the Art Institute of Chicago. Posted by Hello

Richard Lindner's "The Gambler." kind of freaky, but cute... Posted by Hello

One of my favorites at the Art Institute....the 15 ft. high Mao Zedong done by Warhol. The way the museum has this set up, you walk around the corner and are taken by surprise with it.  Posted by Hello

Yinka Shonibare. good stuff. Posted by Hello

I walked into this room and freaked; love Rothko's work but had never seen any of it in person!!!! Posted by Hello

Magritte.....one of my favorite artists.  Posted by Hello

From Monet's series of haystack paintings, all taken from different lighting perspectives. This photo doesn't do them justice. Posted by Hello

A Chirico painting.  Posted by Hello

Loved this one.....Dali's "A Chemist Lifting with Extreme Precaution the Cuticle of a Grand Piano."  Posted by Hello

Karen, standing in front of a Clifford Still.  Posted by Hello

This one was so creepy, it was cool. The Belgian Delvaux's "The Village of the Mermaids" was based on the artist's dream that the motionless group of women he walked passed had turned into mermaids by the time he reached the shore. You can't really see it, but the mermaids are in background (right center).  Posted by Hello

The famous stained glass windows at the Art Institute, by Marc Chagall Posted by Hello
